BB00670: Ziyarat dar shab-i-jum’ah

If, then, on such a night thou art in the Garden of Holiness and the Enclosure of intimacy, perfume the outer temple of thy body with that whereof thy knowledge cannot encompass the fragrance upon thy outward being; then clothe thyself with what God, thy Lord, hath bestowed upon thee of His bounty. Thereupon walk on until thou attainest unto the first gate. There say four times: “O Thou Possessor of the Kingdom and the Dominion!” Then at the second: four times, “O Thou Possessor of Might and of the Realm of Power!” Then at the third: four times, “O Thou Possessor of Power and of the World of Divinity!” Then at the fourth: four times, “O Thou Possessor of Strength and of the Ruby-hued World!” Then at the fifth: three times, “O Thou Possessor of Sovereignty and of the Human World!” Thereafter enter, by the leave of God, in joy and gladness.

And when thou standest before God—or before one of the One, of the First Unity—if thou desirest to recite one of the exalted enumerations, say:

“God testifieth that there is none other God but He. His are the most beauteous names, in the heavens and on the earth and whatsoever lieth between them. There is none other God but He, the All-Watchful, the Self-Subsisting.”

Then return until thy back is joined unto the grave. There, if thou art in the state of spirit and sweet fragrance as thou standest, utter what God hath commanded thee; and first sit thou down—for verily God loveth this for thee. Then say:

The Glory be upon thee, O Glory of God; and the Majesty be upon thee, O Majesty of God; and the Beauty be upon thee, O Beauty of God; and the Grandeur be upon thee, O Grandeur of God; and the Light be upon thee, O Light of God; and the Names be upon thee, O Names of God; and the Might be upon thee, O Might of God; and the Will be upon thee, O Will of God; and the Knowledge be upon thee, O Knowledge of God; and the Power be upon thee, O Power of God; and the Good-pleasure be upon thee, O Good-pleasure of God; and the Honor be upon thee, O Honor of God; and the Sovereignty be upon thee, O Sovereignty of God; and the Dominion be upon thee, O Dominion of God; and the Loftiness be upon thee, O Loftiness of God; and the Verses be upon thee, O Verses of God; and the Words be upon thee, O Words of God.

Thou hast ascended unto God, thy Lord, through what God, thy Creator, hath caused thee to mount. I bear witness that thou art in the Most Exalted Horizon of Ridvan, and in the most glorious degree of Paradise. God hath created for thee that which shall satisfy thy heart and thy spirit, then thy self, then thy body. And God will raise thee up from a living soul if He willeth, by the word of Him Whom God shall make manifest—glorified be His remembrance. Hold thou fast to Him, if thou dost attain unto Him.

For there is nothing beyond God, nor anything after God; and after the Truth there is naught but falsehood; and after Paradise there is naught but the Fire; and after affirmation there is naught but denial; and after light there is naught but darkness; and after good-pleasure there is naught but that which is beneath good-pleasure.

This hath God sent down upon thee and upon every remembrance, and upon every one more pure than those who entered the Bayan before, and who shall enter until the Day of Resurrection—through His grace unto all temples, and through His bounty unto all circles. His is the creation and the command, from before and after. All are guided by the First Unity, and on the Day of Resurrection all are guided through Him Whom God shall make manifest.

By night, repeat it one hundred and ten times; and by day, ninety and two times; for thou shalt find all good in perseverance therein. He is the Most Exalted, the Most Great.

Concerning sustenance, recite this verse nineteen times: “Their sustenance cometh unto them, morning and evening.”
