BB00403: Kitabu’l-Ahmad

In the Name of God, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate

Praise be to God Who bestows favor upon whomsoever He wishes among His servants. Verily there is no God but Him, the Lord of Great Bounty.

I extol Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family, with what God has praised him in the eternity of His Essence and attributes. Verily there is no God but Him, the Mighty, the Wise, the Most High. And I send blessings upon the successors of the Messenger of God, peace be upon him and his family, with what the Glorious One has blessed them before the existence of all things and will continue to bless them after the passing of all things. Verily He is the Generous, the Bestower.

I have read your letter which you sent with your son. May God reward you with His best recompense for what you have patiently endured for His sake. In the days when I was in the land of Sad, I learned of what had befallen you from God’s decree. That was a matter from which none could escape. May God grant you patience in it, for verily we are from God and unto Him do we return. By my life, I say with love for that station:

“O Death who art not satisfied, thou hast destroyed every friend. I see thee separating those who love each other as though thou wert a sea without a guide.”

When I heard of your affliction, I permitted your son to travel to you, but he did not agree due to his love for religion. Now, having heard from those arriving from that land of your great sorrow and advanced age, I have consented to allow my beloved son Hassan to journey to that holy land. I beseech God to protect him on the path and bring him to the sacred precincts of the Glorious Sanctuary. With your permission, I have not allowed his elder brother to go since he is with me, God willing, in the Greatest Scene.

Do not grieve, for his presence is with you. I ask God to gladden the hearts of the believers through His grace and facilitate our ascent to reach the Holy Land through His favor. Verily I, on this mountain, praise God with a radiant, brilliant, and sanctified praise that transcends all praise and glorification, just as God’s Cause transcends all who are in the kingdoms of the heavens and earth, through grace above all praise like His grace upon His servants. Verily He is the Self-Sufficient, the Most High.

At all times when entering the Sanctuary, greetings are conveyed from the people of the prison to the people of justice. I beseech their grace, for God has guaranteed the answering of prayers beneath that dome, and without doubt God does not break His promise. If Umm Ahmad wishes to perform the pilgrimage, send your younger son with her to give her peace of mind. Verily God assists whomsoever He wishes among His servants, and He is the Mighty, the Wise.

I seek forgiveness from God, my Lord, for all that God and His loved ones love. Verily He is the Forgiving, the Loving. Glory be to God, your Lord, the Lord of Might, above what they describe. Peace be upon the Messengers, and praise be to God, the Lord of the worlds.
