BB00253: Du’a’ath-Thalith fi Ardi’l’A’la li-Karbala’I Fath-’Ali

The third prayer in the Land of the Most High for Karbila’i Fath-ʿAli

In the Name of God, the Most Unapproachable, the Most Holy

Glorified art Thou, O my God! I bear witness unto Thee, and unto all things, that Thou art God; there is none other God but Thee. Thine are creation and command, from before and from after.

From everlasting Thou hast been God—One, Single, Self-Subsisting, Unique, Living, Ever-Abiding, the Ruler, the Just, the Holy. Thou hast taken unto Thyself neither consort nor child; Thou hast had no partner in what Thou hast created, nor any helper in what Thou hast wrought. Thou hast created all things by Thy power, in due measure, and hast fashioned the creation of all things by Thy will, with perfect form. Thou art He before Whom all who are in the heavens and all who are on the earth and whatsoever lieth between them prostrate themselves; and all who are in the realms of command and creation and whatsoever is beneath them are humble and submissive.

From everlasting Thou hast been God—One, Single, Self-Subsisting, Unique, Living, Ever-Abiding. Thou hast taken unto Thyself neither consort nor child; Thou hast had no partner in what Thou hast created, nor any helper in what Thou hast wrought. Thou didst rear up the heavens and the earth and whatsoever lieth between them out of nothing, by Thy command; then didst Thou create the creation of all things through Thy power, and didst provide sustenance for the creation of all things through Thy will. Thou didst cause all things to die through the sovereignty of the might of Thy oneness, and didst quicken all things through the abodes of the might of Thy Self-Sufficiency.

Thou art the One Who existed before all things and Thou art the Creator of all things. Glorified and exalted art Thou! Glorified and manifest art Thou! Glorified and beauteous art Thou! Glorified and illumined art Thou! Glorified and merciful art Thou! Glorified and compassionate art Thou! Glorified and perfect art Thou! Glorified and mighty art Thou! Glorified and wise art Thou! Glorified and well-pleased art Thou! Glorified and sovereign art Thou! Glorified and dominant art Thou! Glorified and manifest art Thou! Glorified and hidden art Thou! Glorified and holy art Thou!

There hath ever been nothing like unto Thee, nor any equal, nor any likeness, nor any companion, nor any similitude. I shall sanctify Thee above all that hath sanctified Thee or shall sanctify Thee, and I shall glorify Thee above all that hath glorified Thee or shall glorify Thee, and I shall testify to Thy oneness with all that hath testified or shall testify to Thy oneness, and I shall magnify Thee above all that hath magnified or shall magnify Thee, and I shall exalt Thee above all that hath exalted or shall exalt Thee.

Thou hast created all things from nothing that they might worship Thee, prostrate themselves before Thee, magnify Thee, exalt Thee and sanctify Thee. Thou hast made Thyself known in every Revelation through what Thou hast manifested of Thy Self. Thus have the recognizers in every Revelation recognized through what Thou hast caused them to know through Thy signs, and the veiled have been veiled through what Thou hast completed as Thy proof against them. Thereby hath been realized in the kingdom of command and creation the existence of negation and affirmation, and what Thou hast ordained of heaven and hell.

Glorified art Thou! There is no God but Thee, the One, the Almighty. Thy bounties have ever shone upon the dwellers of Thy kingdom, and Thy gifts have ever been bestowed upon those in the kingdom of command and creation. By Thy grace Thou dost provide for whomsoever Thou willest, and by Thy generosity Thou dost cause to enter Paradise whomsoever Thou desirest, and by Thy favor Thou dost ordain whatsoever Thou willest from Thy presence.

Thine is the most exalted loftiness, O my God, above all loftiness and exaltation, and Thine is the most resplendent sublimity, O my Beloved, above all sublimity and glory. Thou hast described Thyself, and verily Thou art above what the describers say. Thine is the kingdom and the dominion, Thine the might and the power, Thine the strength and the divinity, Thine the force and the essence, Thine the sovereignty and human nature, Thine the might and the majesty, Thine the dominion and perfection, Thine the power and action, Thine the countenance and beauty, Thine the similitude and example, Thine the grandeur and pride, Thine the power and ascendancy, Thine the joy and gladness, Thine the greatness and independence.

The dwellers of Thy kingdom have ever been and shall ever be Thy servants and worshippers, and all within the kingdom of Thy command and creation shall forever remain Thy possessions and remembrancers. Is there anything, O my God, that doth not prostrate itself before Thee through its essence, its identity, its self, its being, its beginning, its end, its outward aspect, its inward reality, its height, its depth, and in all that pertains to its final state and abode? Glorified and exalted art Thou at every good thing that prostrateth itself before Thee through what Thou hast ordained.

In all his deeds he worshipeth Thee through what Thou hast brought into being, for the contingent realm hath ever circled and will continue to circle round Thy Will, and in all conditions the one drawn unto Thee experienceth the power of Thy sovereignty. Unto Thee, O my God, ascendeth the work of all who dwell in the kingdom of creation and command, and before Thee bow down the essences of all who inhabit the kingdom of heaven and earth. Thou beholdest the dwellers of Thy heaven and earth, and observest the essences of Thy creation and what their hands have wrought. When one is purified solely for Thee—there is no God but Thee—or is sanctified from all else beside Thee, then dost Thou remember him as befitteth Thy grace, according to what the contingent beings deserve before Thy presence. Otherwise, none in the kingdom of Thy command and creation can comprehend what Thou art, much less find Thee.

Glorified and exalted art Thou! We have ever worshipped none but Thee, sought none except Thee, desired naught besides Thee, and mentioned none but Thee alone—there is no God but Thee. For all else besides Thee, unto whatever heights they may ascend, the limits of their essence returneth only to a collection of constraints, and their realities are bound to orbital geometries, their essences having been kneaded with the waters of allusions through what their hands have wrought.

Thou art far above whatsoever the contingent beings have described Thee with or shall describe Thee, and Thou art sanctified beyond all that created things have mentioned of Thee or shall mention. When I ascend to Thy remembrance, I must needs sanctify Thee from my remembrance, and when I rise to praise Thee, I am bound to exalt Thee above my praise. If this be true of the highest station to which the name of existence can be attributed, how much more so of that which befitteth not Thy holy majesty nor is worthy of Thy glorious court!

Glorified and exalted art Thou! All Thy servants are in Thy grasp. Through following Thee, the monotheists have entered the pavilions of Thy good-pleasure, while the veiled ones are concealed through what their hands have wrought, according to what Thou hast promised them of Thy might. Glorified and exalted, hallowed and sanctified art Thou! I have never awaited aught from Thee save that Thou hast perfected the creation of all things by Thy command and completed Thy favors and bounties upon the dwellers of Thy earth and heaven.

Praise be unto Thee, O my God, with praise befitting Thy right over Thy creation, and glory be unto Thee, O my Beloved, according to how Thou hast described Thyself. Glorified and exalted art Thou! Thou givest life and causest death, then causest death and givest life. Verily Thou art the Ever-Living Who dieth not, the King Who passeth not away, the Just Who wrongeth not, the Sovereign Who changeth not, and the Single One from Whose grasp nothing escapeth, whether in the heavens or on earth or between them. Thou createst what Thou willest by Thy command. Verily, Thou art powerful over all things.
