BB00316: Khatt mina’l-Masqat ila Salman

In the name of God, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate

Glorified be He Who sendeth down the Book upon whomsoever He willeth among His servants. Verily, there is no God but He, the All-Mighty, the All-Praised. This is indeed a Book wherein the ordinances concerning innovations have been expounded—sent down from Our presence by One all-high, all-wise. These are verses of the Qur’an, revealed from Us according to a manifest balance; and this is a decree from the Book of thy Lord—unchangeable in wisdom—sent down from Us upon a straight path.

Follow thou the ordinance of whatsoever is cast unto thee from the Book of Permission, for the Hour hath come in truth; and God is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. Verily, those who follow the signs of God in truth—these are the rightly guided. But whoso turneth away from the judgment of thy Lord shall not read a single letter from His Book; such are the wrongdoers.

God knoweth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is on the earth, and men have not ceased to differ concerning the ordinance of the Book. Say: If aught besides the Remnant of God were to send it down, they could never produce the like thereof. Glorified be God far above all they ascribe as partners! These are verses of the Tablet: God hath revealed them regarding the decree of the inmost sense of the Qur’an, that haply men may be assured through the signs of God. Recite thou the Book of God—thy Lord, there is no God but He—then proclaim unto the people the ordinance that hath been sent down therein, that haply they may be admonished by the signs of God.

As for those who disbelieve in what hath been revealed unto thee in that Book, after they had come to know the decree of God with justice—such are the idolaters. Only those are the believers who, when the signs of God are heard, fall down in prostration. Be thou thankful unto thy Lord for the ordinance sent down unto thee in that Book; then convey, in like manner, what We have revealed unto thee therein, to the believers who follow the signs of God in truth—these are they who are rightly guided.

Publish the decree of thy Lord regarding what hath been revealed in that Book, for God deferreth the signs in truth; and thy Lord will not suffer the recompense of the believers to be lost. These verses are a proof from the Remnant of God unto whomsoever desireth to be among the guided. And that Book is a proof from Our presence for whoso willeth to believe in the signs of thy Lord and be numbered with the worshippers who prostrate themselves.

It is not permitted to any soul to decree save in accordance with what We revealed aforetime in the Book; and God is well aware of what men do. There is no God but He. On the Day of Resurrection He shall judge between all with justice; and thy Lord would not wrong a soul by so much as an atom’s weight. God is All-Powerful, All-Glorious.

Say: O concourse, ye people of the Qur’an! Fear God, your Lord—there is no God but He; He knoweth what ye tally and what ye know not. Fear God concerning the Day when unto God shall all be gathered. Whoso disbelieveth in Our signs, naught of his deeds shall be accepted; on the Day of Resurrection he shall surely be among the lost. On that Day no ransom shall be taken from any soul; for the wrongdoers there shall be, from the judgment of thy Lord, neither protector nor helper.

Send thou a Book such as this unto certain of the learned—God is fully aware of the Days of God. If God permit, it shall come to pass; and God is Self-Sufficient, the All-Praised. In that Book are verses sent down from Us for a people who hearken. Were all mankind to gather to bring the like of what We have sent down unto thee in that Book, they would never be able to produce it, though We were to extend unto them the support of their own desires. Thy Lord is, in truth, All-Powerful, All-Glorious; naught escapeth the knowledge of thy Lord in the heavens or on the earth. There is no God but He, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

Say: O concourse! There hath come unto you a Remembrance from the Remnant of God, confirming what the Prophets and Messengers brought from God—that none should be worshipped save Him. This is the pure religion of God. What aileth you, that ye do not perceive? Verily, the believer in the Book of thy Lord is he who believeth in God and His signs, and followeth the ordinance of the Remembrance from Our presence—such are the ones who set aright.

This is the path of thy Lord in the heavens and on the earth: from Our presence is the Command cast down according to a manifest balance. And the utterance of the Name hath been forbidden in the Book—its mention hath been interdicted; this is a decree of God, decided in truth. Say: I find no change, in certain of the years, for the ordinance of God. Glorified be thy Lord, the Lord of the Throne, above what they ascribe! Convey greetings and magnify the Name of thy Lord unto the believers, and say: Praise be to God, the Lord of all the worlds.
