He is God, the Most Great, the Most Exalted, the Most High
Today is the first of Dhi’l-Qa’dah. All praise be to God as He deserves, and may God’s blessings be upon Muhammad and his family and followers as befits His grace and bounty, for He is the Generous, the Bestower. In past months, repeated mention was made that indicated life, praise be to God. Now as before, though in the mountain, it is pleasant since it is according to the Beloved’s good-pleasure […] What can I say about the actions of the Sovereign, the Almighty, and the Wise, Compelling King? Each time I came to this place of glory, why were these people bewildered and tested, and how was the truth of the enduring Word (may my spirit and all who are known to God be sacrificed for Him) made manifest, as He said what is mentioned in Al-Nu’mani’s Book of Occultation: “Azerbaijan is inevitable for us, nothing can withstand it” etc. Indeed, I have no recourse but to commit my affair to God and seek relief from Him, for He sees His servants. Though I have no equal in grief today, since it is in God’s path there is perfect contentment and joy. Such has been God’s way from before, and you will find no change in God’s way.
Multiple letters have been written to his grandfather and father to comfort their hearts. In any case, He said if they wish, staying in Yazd is far better than Shiraz—the choice is theirs. A petition was submitted to them on the 28th of the revered month of Sha’ban—God willing it has arrived. May they have no anxiety whatsoever. Praise be to God, all goes well, and in every case they should beseech God to bring about whatever is best. Though they are obviously in utmost grief, they should console themselves with the mention of Joseph and Imam Musa. The contents of this page should be read in their presence to bring comfort to their hearts. These days no fresh news has arrived from the sources of command, until later when the decree of the Supreme Bestower manifests what transpires.
Recently letters dated the 8th of Jumada II were seen. This page, after being reviewed, was sent to Shiraz for their perusal. I wrote replies to the letters which will be sent and will arrive. A new copy of Jannat al-Khulud was seen—arrangements have been made for copies to reach everyone. One is also for the mother—apparently they should give it to the household—they have discretion […] Complete the accounts with Bombay likewise […] And pay the price for it so the account may be settled. I conclude this page with these two verses:
You who are free—like branches born of spring, Count joy as treasure at each passing hour; The Hunter hath with me a settled pact—For me as well, the snare is but His art.
Regarding the friends in Yazd who sent greetings—may God’s peace be upon them. Tell Shaykh Muhammad Husayn:
“I guarantee Paradise for such a friend as you if you pay your elder brother’s debt. If you wish, then give; otherwise tomorrow you will know that all the keys of Paradise and Hell are in my hand like my ring. God suffices as a witness over me.”
