BB00308: Ziyara for the martyrs, on Thursday night

Visitation for the martyrs, upon them be Glory

In the name of God, the Inaccessible, the Most Holy

Glory be unto Thee, O my God! I and all things bear witness that verily Thou art God; there is no God but Thee, alone, without peer. Unto Thee belong the most excellent names in their essence, and unto Thee belong the most exalted attributes in their sovereignty. Thou hast ever existed before all things, and Thou wilt ever remain after all things. I and all things testify that from time immemorial Thy dominion over the realm of creation hath been in Thy grasp, and Thy kingdom over the realm of invention hath been in the right hand of Thy will. None can reckon the beginning of Thy creation, nor its end. Indeed, Thou hast shown me from the wondrous beginning of Thy creation until this time when the first millennium and decade have been completed, and we are now in the third millennium after the decade.

I bear witness that Thou hast been One, not in number, One without resemblance to any other, from the wondrous beginning of Thy creation until now. Thou hast never sent a Messenger, nor revealed a Book, nor supported the people of the religion of God except for Him Whom Thou shalt manifest on the Day of Resurrection through Thy signs. Verily, Thou hast never revealed any decree in any Manifestation except that Thou didst intend to exalt the Manifestation of Thyself in the subsequent Revelation. As Thou hast permitted me in all things, I have desired naught except to aid Him Whom Thou shalt manifest and to exalt the Word of Him Whom Thou shalt raise up.

By Thy might! Had I known of any decree that might occur to anyone’s heart without love for Him and obedience to Him, I would not have revealed that decree, and had I revealed it, I would have abrogated it through an irrevocable decree from Thee and an unalterable ordinance from Thy presence. For all this is for the manifestation of Thy unity, the exaltation of Thy sanctity, the elevation of Thy praise, the glory of Thy countenance, the independence of the sovereignty of Thy Self-Sufficiency, the splendor of the light of Thy Beauty, the majesty of Thy Glory, the beauty of Thy Face, the greatness of Thy Everlasting Might, the radiance of Thy Holy Light, the mercy of Thy All-Merciful Nature, the perfection of Thy Oneness, the grandeur of Thy Sovereign Singleness, the might of Thy Conquering Authority, the power of Thy Sovereign Dominion, the good-pleasure of Thy All-Glorious Sovereignty, the transcendence of Thine Eternity, the dominion of Thy Divine Lordship, the sovereignty of the might of Thy Oneness, and the power of the strength of Thy All-Knowing Sovereignty.

By Thy might! If I knew that anyone on the day of His manifestation would cause Him grief, I would assuredly send down unto him a missive and forbid him therefrom, for no doubter followeth Me in Thy good-pleasure. On that day the Bayan shall appear with supreme elucidation, and verily I behold Thee and all things on that Friday night which Thou hast made glorious, and sought after, and adorned, and magnified, and illumined, and sanctified, and elevated above all else. Then shall I address all things from Thy presence, saying:

“O all things! God hath created naught save for Him Whom He shall make manifest in truth. Therefore watch over yourselves, for not to practice your religion is better than to pass judgment upon God, your Lord.”

This is what God, your Lord, hath counseled you in the Bayan, and before and after, that ye may prosper on the Day of Resurrection. And sufficient art Thou, O my God, as a witness unto what I have made Thee and all things to witness, and at that time Thou didst send down a decisive proof from Thy presence concerning the believers.

Glorified art Thou, O my God! I testify that all besides Thee is Thy creation and within Thy grasp, and all things shall confess before Him Who manifesteth Thy Self on the Day of Resurrection that Thou didst create all things for Him, and sustain them for Him, and cause them to die for Him, and give them life for Him, and judge them for Him. I testify that He hath no peer in Thy knowledge, no equal in Thy Book, no likeness in Thy heaven, no partner in Thy earth, and no similitude between them in the kingdom of Thy command and creation. For this is a Lamp which, if Thou cause it to shine, shall illumine all things with its light; a Word which, if Thou send it down, shall set aright the affairs of all things through Thy grace; and a Book which, if Thou unfold it, […], therein shalt Thou find, by His leave, whatsoever Thou desirest of all things. Glorified art Thou, O my God! By it Thou didst rectify the matter of all things even before its manifestation—from the Day of Adam until that moment—and before Adam unto all that Thou hast numbered; and thereafter, until Thou shalt have numbered all.

Do Thou, then, send down at that hour—upon him and upon those who have believed in him on the Day of Resurrection—the truth: from every splendor the most resplendent, from every majesty the most majestic, from every beauty the most beauteous, from every greatness the greatest thereof, from every light the most luminous, from every might the most mighty, from every mercy the most abundant, from every word the most perfect, from every manifestation the most manifest, from every hiddenness the most hidden, from every knowledge the most effectual, from every utterance the most well-pleasing, from every love the most entrancing, from every sovereignty the most enduring, from every exaltation the most exalted, and from every good that, in Thy knowledge, hath no equal.

Fill, then, the pillars of all things with love for him, with his good-pleasure, with awe of him and reverence before him, and with obedience to whatsoever Thou sendest down upon him of the decrees of Thy power. For all bounty is in his hand: if he exalteth a command, then from the day of his appearance until the Resurrection, all abide in ease through his grace; and if he decreeth a matter, all dwell beneath the shade of his obedience.

O God! Preserve him from all sorrow, lest he be concealed from that creation and pass judgement upon them from which they cannot escape, nor can they be veiled from the commands of His dominion. For if He bestows anything, all things receive it, and if He judges anything, all things apprehend it, for in every Manifestation all things bow down before the Manifestation of Thy Self and humble themselves before the Dawning-Place of Thy Being. Therefore, O God, do Thou send down upon him and upon the Letters of the Living and upon all his names and likenesses that which befitteth the loftiness of Thy sanctity and the exaltation of Thy grace. And do Thou send down upon his parents and those who love him that which befitteth the sublimity of Thy bounty and the exaltation of Thy grace and the elevation of Thy generosity and the inaccessibility of Thy wisdom.

And do Thou send down, through the mention of his name with Thee, upon the Point of the Bayan and His Letters of the Living and all His followers, and those who have ascended unto Thee in their love for Him from among the Letters of the Ten, and those who have ascended unto Thee with their hearts and spirits and souls and bodies, that which befitteth the sublimity of Thy bounty and the exaltation of Thy grace.

And do Thou send down, O God, upon those who have not believed in Him, all Thy chastisement and retribution, for Thou art the most severe in punishment and the most terrible in vengeance. And do Thou send down that which Thou sendest down upon those who have not believed in Him upon those who have not recognized Thee in the Point of the Bayan, nor in the Manifestation of Thy Self, nor in the names of Thy might, nor in the examples of Thy holiness, or who have written concerning anyone that which is not befitting at the rising of Thy might and the appearance of Thy glory. Verily, Thou art severe in chastisement and Thou art, over all things, powerful.

And if thou art on such a night at the tomb of the First and the Last or what lieth between them, or anyone who hath ascended unto God on the Day of Resurrection, after completing the prayers of sunset and evening, enter by thy Lord’s leave that most exalted seat and most glorious pavilion. Then say by covenant from thee: “When thou attainest unto the Day of Resurrection, remember this in His presence when God permitteth thee. Verily the glory from God, then from the Letters of the Unity, then from all who have believed in God and His days, be upon you, O ye hearts that glorify, spirits that sanctify, souls that unite, and bodies that magnify!

God hath never ceased to remember you with the loftiness of His remembrance and to send down concerning your station the exaltation of His glory. I testify before God and all things that ye have ascended unto God in your entirety and have attained unto what God hath prepared for you. Verily, all essences glorify, all beings sanctify, all souls unite, and all existences magnify the greatness of your essences’ essence, the loftiness of your beings’ being, the sublimity of your souls’ soul, the growth of your existence’s existence, and the manifestation of your camphor’s camphor. There weep for you whatsoever is in the highest kingdom down to the lowest atom: the heavens in their steadfastness, the sun in its rising, the moon in its fullness, the stars in their rising and setting, the earth in its spreading forth, the sea in its waves, the fish in their courses, the trees in their height, the leaves in their growth, the fruits in their ripening, and whatsoever is in the heaven and the earth in that which remembereth you and what hath befallen you.”

You shall return on the Day of Resurrection and settle in the seats of glory, and you shall look upon those who weep for you and expend in your path what God has ordained for you. This is your recompense, since you have come unto God, your Lord, Who created you, sustained you, caused you to die, gave you life, and raised you from the resting-places of your hearts, and clothed you in the garments of His remembrance, as He wishes, with what He wishes, for what He wishes, for He does what He pleases and is powerful over what He desires.

Will those who turned away from you be remembered then? No, by your essence! If they knew themselves, they would flee from themselves and bear witness against themselves, destroying themselves by their own hands. By God, He will take vengeance upon them and cause their tongues to utter what befits them in their lives, then after their return whence they know not and comprehend not. Thus does God take vengeance on whom He pleases and singles out for His favor whom He wishes. Verily, He is the All-Bountiful, the All-Encompassing, the Most Generous.

Glory be unto Thee, O my God! Thou seest those hearts, spirits, souls and bodies in the chambers of Thy good-pleasure, the mysteries of Thy gardens, the loftiness of their seats and the inaccessibility of their ascents. Therefore, O my God, do Thou send down upon them that whereby they may soar in the chambers of Thy paradise and dwell in the seats of Thy glory, and hear how Thou didst take vengeance on those who committed against them, without right, that which Thou hadst not permitted to anyone before. And they shall witness, through the manifestations of Thy creation, the breathings of Thy holiness, the revelations of Thy creation, the signs of Thy glory, and the modes of Thy grace, that which shall glorify Thee beyond all that hath glorified Thee or shall glorify Thee, and shall sanctify Thee beyond all that hath sanctified Thee or shall sanctify Thee, and shall unite Thee beyond all that hath united Thee or shall unite Thee, and shall magnify Thee beyond all that hath magnified Thee or shall magnify Thee, and shall exalt Thee above what hath exalted Thee or shall exalt Thee.

For less than this befits not the sublimity of Thy holiness, the exaltation of Thy glory, the elevation of Thy might, the inviolability of Thy sanctity, the radiance of Thy countenance, the invincibility of Thy Lordship, the power of Thine eternity, the majesty of Thy oneness, the beauty of Thy bountifulness, the loftiness of Thine everlastingness, and the permanence of the sovereignty of Thy self-subsistence.

Glorified art Thou! There is no God but Thee before all things, and glorified art Thou! There is no God but Thee after all things, and glorified art Thou! There is no God but Thee above all things, and glorified art Thou! There is no God but Thee beneath all things. All are Thy servants and within Thy grasp. Thou givest life and causest death, then causest death and givest life, and verily Thou art the Ever-Living Who dieth not. Within Thy grasp is the kingdom of all things. Thou createst what Thou willest by Thy command. Verily, Thou hast power over all things.
