BB00293: Ziyarat for the second to be martyred among the Letters of the Living

Glorified art Thou, O my God! Verily Thou art the Creator of the heavens and the earth, the Knower of the unseen and the seen. Nothing in the heavens or on earth or between them escapes Thy knowledge, and nothing in the dominion of Command or Creation or whatsoever is beneath them can frustrate Thee. From time immemorial Thou hast been alone in Thy might and permanence, and Thou hast subdued Thy servants through death and extinction. Thou hast caused those whom Thou willest to ascend through martyrdom in Thy path to the summit of contentment, and elevated those for whom Thou hast ordained Thy meeting to the highest heaven of glory.

Glorified art Thou, O my God! I bear witness, and all things bear witness, that Thou art God, there is no God but Thee, alone without partner. Thine is the sovereignty and Thine the praise. Thou givest life and causest death, then causest death and givest life, and verily Thou art the Ever-Living Who dieth not. Within Thy grasp is the dominion of all things, and in Thy right hand is the empire of all things. Thou createst what Thou willest, how Thou willest, by what Thou willest, and Thou originatest what Thou desirest, how Thou desirest, by what Thou desirest.

Thou hast ever been one God, Single, Unique, Eternal, Self-Subsisting, the Ever-Abiding, the Ever-Enduring, the Self-Dependent. Thou hast taken neither consort nor son, and Thou hast no partner in what Thou hast created, nor any protector in what Thou hast fashioned. They glorify Thee in the kingdom of Thy earth and heaven, they praise Thee in the kingdom of Thy might and creation, they unite in Thy oneness in the kingdom of Thy wondrous works and glory, they magnify Thee in the kingdom of Thy sanctity and majesty, and they extol Thee in the kingdom of Thy exaltation and bounty.

Thou hast ever existed before all things and Thou wilt ever exist after all things. Thou hast subdued those in the kingdoms of earth and heaven through Thy sovereign might, and Thou hast dominated those in the kingdom of Command and Creation and whatsoever lieth between them through the authority of Thy omnipotence. Thou hast utterly annihilated the Tree of Negation with all that pertaineth unto it, and Thou hast caused the Tree of Affirmation to endure with all that pertaineth unto it. How great is Thy right, O my God, how mighty Thy station, O my Beloved, how exalted Thy sanctity, O my Lord, how invincible Thy power, O my King, how lofty the inaccessibility of Thy Lordship, O my Master and my Sovereign!

From all eternity Thou alone hast administered true justice and abandoned those who have not recognized Thy unity through what Thou hast ordained for the people of destiny. When wilt Thou be veiled that Thy loved ones should lose Thee, and when wilt Thou not be manifest through wondrous appearances that Thy friends may thereby be illumined? Thou art the Manifest One Who hast ever been above all things, and the Subduer Who wilt ever be above all things. My God beareth witness how that Branch from the branches of the tree of Thy love hath unified Thee through what Thou hast created in his essence of the truth of Thy unity, through his heart, spirit, soul, body and form.

Accept, O my God, this manifestation of Thy sanctification, and elevate, O my God, this for the exaltation of Thy unity, and make glorious, O my God, Thy paradise for those who […] upon his dust in detachment unto Thee and who have prostrated themselves before Thee through drawing nigh unto Thee. Verily Thou art powerful over whatsoever Thou willest and mighty, and exalted and swift in whatsoever Thou desirest. Then bear witness with the eye of thy heart that when thou hast recognized him unto whom thou hast desired to turn with all thy being, thou hast indeed recognized God thy Lord, for that which is manifest in him is none other than I. Know thou therefore the station of him whose presence thou hast desired.

I testify that if thou wert to witness before Him what God hath witnessed thereof, verily the Tree of the Branch hath been established in its essence, and whoso visiteth it hath visited the Primal Tree in its reality, and whoso visiteth it after recognizing what God hath ordained for it, it is as though he hath visited God in supreme glory. How great is this bounty in the Book, if thou be of them that perceive.

Then turn and say: Verily the Most Glorious Splendor, and the Most Exalted Majesty, and the Most Beauteous Beauty, and the Most Great Grandeur, and the Most Luminous Light, and all that God hath testified are His names and His attributes, be upon thee, O thou Most Excellent Excellence and […] Essence, who hath […] unto God thy Lord through the attraction of thy heart before all names, and hast ascended unto God thy Lord through what thou didst intend in what thou didst manifest of establishing His oneness by what thou didst witness in His path.

By My life, My heart was consumed when God decreed concerning thee and carried out His will regarding thee. But since this was from God’s bounty upon thee, whereby through that martyrdom thou didst attain the highest horizon of divine authority, My heart is at peace until God joineth Me with thee in the most exalted station, at the distance of two bow-lengths or nearer, in the Most Great Paradise and the Most Glorious Pavilion. Verily He is My Lord, the One with power over this in the Hereafter and in this world. We are God’s and unto God do we return. There is no power nor strength except through God, the Protector, the Self-Subsisting.
