In the Name of God, the Most Just, the Most Just!
Glory be unto Thee, O my God! This is a night wherein Thou hast opened the gates of Thy grace, Thy bounty, Thy generosity, Thy kindness and Thy bestowals. Therefore I beseech Thee by Thyself—for nothing can equal Thy justice, none can be Thy peer, none can resemble Thee, none can be Thy companion, and nothing can be Thy likeness—and by Thy Glory, Thy Majesty, Thy Beauty, Thy Greatness, Thy Light, Thy Names, Thy Might, Thy Words, Thy Wisdom, Thy Knowledge, Thy Power, Thy Command, Thy Will, Thy Honor, Thy Sovereignty, Thy Dominion, Thy Loftiness, Thy Favor, Thy Grace, Thy Bounty, Thy Generosity, Thy Kindness, Thy Gift, Thy Benevolence, Thy Glory, Thy Transcendence, Thy Utterance, Thy Inaccessibility, Thy Greatness, Thy Independence, Thy Splendor, and Thy Lights, to send down upon Thy loved ones in the Bayan, from the first whom Thou hast witnessed unto the last, that which befitteth the sublimity of Thy holiness and the exaltation of Thy glory.
Raise up, O my God, those within it through Thy exaltation; make resplendent, O my God, those within it through Thy light; glorify, O my God, those within it through Thy majesty; beautify, O my God, those within it through Thy beauty; magnify, O my God, those within it through Thy greatness; illumine, O my God, those within it through Thy light; have mercy, O my God, upon those within it through Thy mercy; strengthen, O my God, those within it through Thy might; teach, O my God, those within it through Thy knowledge; make content, O my God, those within it through Thy good-pleasure; empower, O my God, those within it through Thy sovereignty; grant dominion, O my God, to those within it through Thy dominion; enrich, O my God, those within it through Thy riches; honor, O my God, those within it through Thy favors; make excellent, O my God, those within it through Thy benevolence; preserve, O my God, those within it through Thy names; aid, O my God, those within it through Thy example; manifest, O my God, those within it through Thy power; and bestow, O my God, upon those within it all Thy grace and wisdom, all Thy bounty and gift, for verily Thou hast encompassed all things with Thy knowledge.
And educate, O my God, all those within it to prostrate themselves before Him Whom Thou shalt make manifest and to find shelter beneath the shadow of Him Whom Thou shalt raise up on the Day of Resurrection through Thy signs which are Thy clear evidences. Verily, Thou hast power over all things.
O my God! Thou knowest all things and bearest witness unto all things. Unto Thee have been raised glorifying hearts, sanctified spirits, enraptured souls, and magnifying bodies from the First One, then from the numbers which Thou hast created through Thy power. Among them are a father and a brother who inscribe Thy verses before Thee. Therefore send down, O my God, upon them both and upon all who preceded them and followed them that which befitteth the sublimity of Thy sovereignty and the exaltation of Thy station. For whoso taketh pride in Thee, his pride shall not perish nor shall his glory fade. How generous art Thou unto Thy creation, for Thou hast raised unto Thyself one whom Thou didst create from clay and return unto clay, yet preserved his remembrance between these two states until the Hour shall arise, whereby he is remembered in Thy paradise and exalted in the midst of Thy gardens.
Therefore send down, O my God, upon their first and their last, their outward and their inward, from the signs of Thy sanctification, the manifestations of Thy glorification, the fragrances of Thy exaltation, the modes of Thy praise, and the expressions of Thy unity and oneness, that which shall fill Thy heavens and Thy earth and whatsoever lieth between them with the exaltation of Thy remembrance, the inaccessibility of Thy power, the transcendence of Thy Word, the majesty of Thy greatness, and the establishment of Thy Self-Subsistence, for naught in the heavens or on earth or between them escapeth Thy knowledge, nor is anything in the kingdom of Command or Creation or what lieth beneath them beyond Thy power, for verily Thou art All-Knowing, All-Powerful.
When thou findest thyself on such a night in the sacred garden and the precinct of intimacy, then purify thy physical form from whatsoever external impurity thy knowledge encompasseth, then don what God thy Lord hath bestowed upon thee from His grace, then walk until thou reachest the first gate. There say “O Thou Who art the Lord of sovereignty and kingdom” four times, then at the second gate “O Thou Who art the Lord of might and dominion” four times, then at the third gate “O Thou Who art the Lord of power and divinity” four times, then at the fourth gate “O Thou Who art the Lord of strength and the ruby” four times, then at the fifth gate “O Thou Who art the Lord of majesty and the human realm” three times, then enter with God’s leave in a spirit of joy and rapture.
When thou standest before God or before any of the Primary Unity, when thou desirest to make mention of the most exalted numbers, say “God beareth witness that there is no God but Him. His are the most beautiful names in the heavens and the earth and what lieth between them. There is no God but Him, the Protector, the Self-Subsisting.”
Then return until thou reachest the back of the shrine. There, if thou art in a spirit of joy and delight while standing, say what God hath commanded thee, otherwise be seated, for God loveth this for thee. Then say “Verily all glory from God be upon thee, O Glory of God”, then “All majesty be upon thee, O Majesty of God”, then “All beauty be upon thee, O Beauty of God”, then “All grandeur be upon thee, O Grandeur of God”, then “All light be upon thee, O Light of God”, then “All mercy be upon thee, O Mercy of God”, then “All names be upon thee, O Names of God”, then “All might be upon thee, O Might of God”, then “All will be upon thee, O Will of God”, then “All knowledge be upon thee, O Knowledge of God”, then “All power be upon thee, O Power of God”, then “All good-pleasure be upon thee, O Good-Pleasure of God”, then “All honor be upon thee, O Honor of God”, then “All dominion be upon thee, O Dominion of God”, then “All sovereignty be upon thee, O Sovereignty of God”, then “All loftiness be upon thee, O Loftiness of God”, then “All verses be upon thee, O Verses of God”, then “All words be upon thee, O Words of God”.
Thou hast ascended unto God thy Lord through that whereby God thy Creator hath caused thee to ascend. Bear thou witness that thou art in the supreme horizon of paradise and the most glorious station in the gardens. God hath created for thee that which will gladden thy heart and spirit, then thy soul and body, and God shall resurrect thee from a soul on the Day of Resurrection when He willeth through the word of Him Whom God shall make manifest, exalted be His mention. Hold fast unto Him if thou attainest His presence, for there is naught beyond God and naught after God, and after truth there is naught but falsehood, and after paradise naught but the fire, and after affirmation naught but negation, and after light naught but darkness, and after good-pleasure naught but less than good-pleasure.
This is what God hath revealed unto thee and unto every male and female who has entered into the Bayan before or will enter until the Day of Resurrection is conferred, through His bounty, unto all temples of existence, through His grace, unto all circles. His is the creation and the command, before and after. All are guided by the First Unity, and all shall be guided on the Day of Resurrection by the First Unity through Him Whom God shall make manifest.
