Glorified art Thou, O my God! I and all things bear witness on this Night which Thou hast made magnificent, majestic, beauteous, mighty and holy, that there is no God but Thee, alone with no partner. Thine is the Kingdom and the Dominion, Thine the Glory and the Power, Thine the Might and the Divinity, Thine the Strength and Sovereignty, Thine the Rule and Creation. Thou givest life and causeth death, then causeth death and givest life. Verily Thou art the Ever-Living Who dieth not, the Sovereign Who passeth not away, the Just Who oppresseth not, the Potentate Who changeth not, the Single One from Whose grasp nothing escapeth, whether in the heavens or on the earth or between them. Thou createst what Thou willest by Thy command. Verily, Thou art powerful over all things.
I and all things bear witness, O my Beloved, that Thou hast ever been and wilt ever be before all things and after all things, existent after all things and fashioning above all things and being below all things. Thou hast ever been one God, Single, Unique, Eternal, Ever-Living, Self-Subsisting, Sovereign, Just, All-Glorious, Ever-Standing, All-Subduing, Holy, Everlasting, Self-Dependent. Thou hast taken neither consort nor son, nor hath there been any partner with Thee in sovereignty. All are Thy servants and in Thy grasp, all glorify Thee with praise and all before the authority of Thy Will are prostrate, all testify to Thy oneness through Thy remembrance and all before the dominion of Thy Purpose are humble.
Thy Will hath ever been supreme above all contingent things, Thy Purpose manifest above all created things, Thy destiny dominant over all beings, Thy decree ruling over all in the kingdoms of earth and heaven, Thy leave exalted above all in the kingdom of names and attributes, Thy majesty unattainable above all atoms, and Thy Book elevated above all similitudes and allusions.
This is the Night, O my God, wherein Thou hast ordained the destinies of all things and will ordain from all things. Therefore, O my God, ordain in this Night, by Thy power which extendeth over all things and Thy knowledge which penetrateth the essence of all things, that which will exalt the Tree of Thy Unity and all beneath its shade, and will destroy all save the Tree of Thy Love and what lieth beneath its shadow, or will transform the fire into light in all things for which Thou hast ordained this. For this is the Night wherein Thy mercy hath encompassed all things and Thy bounty hath surrounded all things. Therefore, O my God, ordain for us through Thy grace and generosity, and what is best for us in Thy knowledge, that which befitteth the sublimity of Thy matchless gifts and the exaltation of Thy bounty and glory, for verily Thou art powerful over what Thou willest and mighty over […] Thou knowest what is best for us in our ultimate destiny and abode.
Therefore, O my God, ordain what befitteth Thy bounty, not what our souls deserve before Thy generosity. Verily, Thou art the Lord of righteousness and forgiveness, the Lord of grace and mercy, the Lord of bounty and bestowal, the Lord of honor and loving-kindness, the Lord of might and sovereignty. Thou createst what Thou willest by Thy command; verily, Thou hast power over all things. Thou ordainest from Thy presence as Thou pleasest by Thy command; verily, Thou hast encompassed all things with Thy knowledge. Glorified art Thou! There is no God but Thee. Thou hast ever been independent of all things and self-subsisting.
O God! Send Thy blessings upon the bearer of Thy green light who standeth at the third pillar of Thy throne, through whom Thou takest the souls of Thy creation by Thy leave, that he may give them to drink from the wine of Thy oneness—he whom Thou hast named Azrael in Thy Book—with all the prayers Thou hast created or wilt create, for all bounty is Thine, from Thee, and through Thee, and sovereignty belongeth unto Thee. There is no power nor strength except through Thee, and unto Thee do all things return.
