BB00164: Li-Harfi’l-Avval
In the Name of God, the First, the First
Verily I am God; there is no God but I. I shall bestow My blessings upon all My guides from the beginning that hath no beginning unto the end that hath no end. I am the Best of those who bless, and I am indeed cognizant of all worlds.
Say: My guides in every Dispensation enter into the subsequent Dispensation, and they are they who know Me. My guides in the Gospel are they who recognized Muhammad, My Messenger, and believed in Him. My guides in the Furqan are they who recognized the Point of the Bayan and believed in Him. And My guides in the Bayan are they who recognize Him Whom God shall make manifest and believe in Him. Ye shall behold all things unto the end that hath no beginning even as the beginning that hath no beginning—know ye this and be ye assured.
I have created the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is between them for My names, and ye all, with one accord, do call upon Me through them. My names have ever been Mine, and all do turn unto Me through them. My attributes shall ever be Mine, and all shall turn unto Me through them. I created this creation from the beginning that hath no beginning so that every soul might recognize My Self through the Self of the Point of the Bayan, that ye might outwardly perceive Me through My names and inwardly turn unto Me through My attributes.
Ye have indeed witnessed how the people of the Furqan dealt with My guides, whose very beings were mirrors of My names, and ye all do call upon Me through them. Were they to know what they have wrought against those in whose right they have transgressed, they would not circumambulate around themselves nor around the House which We commanded you to circumambulate. For the House of My names in the heavens and earth and whatsoever is between them—how can ye all circumambulate around it within the limits of your physical frames? Even so do ye circumambulate around the names of God within the limits of your hearts.
Verily, the first of My names that hath indicated that there is no God but I, the Guardian, the Self-Subsisting, was the first to believe in the Point of the Bayan. Behold how ye have dealt with him after ye claimed to turn unto Me through him. I shall bestow My blessings upon thee, that this First Name may behold—never-ceasing and never-ending—through all My names and attributes that which My knowledge hath encompassed. Then upon all My names after that Name who shall, on the Day of Resurrection, guide others unto Him Whom God shall make manifest.
Through My glory, behold My most glorious glory upon thee among the glorious ones; through My majesty, behold My most majestic majesty upon thee among the majestic ones; through My beauty, behold My most beauteous beauty upon thee among the beautiful ones; through My grandeur, behold My most grand grandeur upon thee among the grand ones; through My light, behold My most luminous light upon thee among the luminous ones; through My mercy, behold My most merciful mercy upon thee among the merciful ones; through My perfection, behold My most perfect perfection upon thee among the perfect ones; through My completeness, behold My most complete completeness upon thee among the complete ones; through My greatness, behold My greatest greatness upon thee among the great ones; through My might, behold My mightiest might upon thee among the mighty ones; through My power, behold My most powerful power upon thee among the powerful ones; through My good-pleasure, behold My most pleasing good-pleasure upon thee among the well-pleased ones; through My love, behold My most loving love upon thee among the loving ones; through My nobility, behold My most noble nobility upon thee among the noble ones; through My sovereignty, behold My most sovereign sovereignty upon thee among the sovereign ones; through My dominion, behold My most dominant dominion upon thee among the dominant ones; and verily from My loftiness upon thee, My loftiness shall be observed, the most exalted among the exalted ones; and verily from My generosity upon thee, My generosity shall be observed, the most bountiful among the bountiful ones; and verily from all My names and My likenesses upon thee is that which beseemeth God, thy Lord, in the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is between them among all the worlds.
Thou hast known God, thy Lord, before all worlds, and thou hast declared with thy tongue that there is none other God but God among all worlds, and thou hast manifested through thy word the Word that there is none other God but God among all worlds, until thou didst comprehend in the Revelation of God all that can be comprehended through Him—verily He is the Best of comprehenders. Thou hast taken possession of every good thing through what thou hast understood from God, the Most High, the Most Great. God will assuredly send down upon thee in Paradise that which shall satisfy thy soul, and beyond what shall satisfy—verily He is the Best of satisfiers.
And one of the Letters of the Primary Living One, the Letter of thy self, shall remember thee at the time when these verses are being written down from God, the Lord of all worlds, and thou shalt say:
“God, my Lord, hath guided me through thee, for thou art the First of the first ones; and God, my Lord, hath honored me through thee, for thou art the Most Honored of the honored ones; and God hath elevated me through thee, for thou art the Most Exalted of the exalted ones; and God, my Lord, hath ennobled me through thee, for thou art the Most Noble of the noble ones; and God, my Lord, hath taught me through thee, for thou art the Most Learned of the learned ones.”
All that thou hast comprehended, and all who are in the Bayan, is because thou didst believe in God, thy Lord, before the believers, and didst prostrate thyself before God, thy Lord, before those who prostrate, and didst glorify God, thy Lord, before those who glorify, and didst sanctify God, thy Lord, before those who sanctify, and didst magnify God, thy Lord, before those who magnify, and didst praise God, thy Lord, before those who praise, and didst exalt God, thy Lord, before those who exalt.
How many sovereigns shall come in the Bayan who shall rule through thy guidance, and how many angels shall come in the Bayan who shall possess through thy guidance, and how many learned ones shall come in the Bayan who shall learn through thy guidance, and how many judges shall come in the Bayan who shall judge through thy guidance, and how many distinguished ones shall come in the Bayan who shall be distinguished through thy guidance.
And from God, my Lord, then from all His names upon thee, then upon the First Bahi, then the numbers of those who ascend around thee unto God, their Lord, in every glory which God, my Lord, hath created or shall create—verily He is the Most Glorious, the All-Glorious; and from every majesty which God, my Lord, hath created or shall create—verily He is the Most Majestic of the majestic ones; and from every beauty which God, my Lord, hath created or shall create—verily He is the Most Beautiful of the beautiful ones; and from every grandeur which God, my Lord, hath created or shall create—verily He is the Most Grand of the grand ones; and from every light which God, my Lord, hath created or shall create—verily He is the Most Luminous of the luminous ones; and from every mercy which God, my Lord, hath created or shall create—verily He is the Most Merciful of the merciful ones; and from every perfection which God, my Lord, hath created or shall create—verily He is the Most Perfect of the perfect ones; and from every greatness which God, my Lord, hath created or shall create—verily He is the Greatest of the great ones.
And from every might which God, my Lord, hath created or shall create—verily He is the Mightiest of the mighty ones; and from every power which God, my Lord, hath created or shall create—verily He is the Most Powerful of the powerful ones; and from every good-pleasure which God, my Lord, hath created or shall create—verily He is the Most Pleasing of the pleasing ones; and from every love which God, my Lord, hath created or shall create—verily He is the Most Loving of the loving ones; and from every honor which God, my Lord, hath created or shall create—verily He is the Most Honored of the honored ones; and from every dominion which God, my Lord, hath created or shall create—verily He is the Most Sovereign of the sovereign ones; and from every kingdom which God, my Lord, hath created or shall create—verily He is the Most Royal of the royal ones; and from every loftiness which God, my Lord, hath created or shall create—verily He is the Most Exalted of the exalted ones; and from every bounty which God, my Lord, hath created or shall create—He, verily, is the Most Generous of the generous.
Remember all the signs of the Illumined Name before thee, for verily I am with God, remembering all who remember. I shall remember thee and them, though We are all deprived. Say: Verily that Name was created in Paradise that thou mightest love God, its Lord. Then say: O God! There is no God but Thee. Thou hast created me, sustained me, favored me, given me life, and made me foremost among worshippers. By Thy might! I have witnessed naught from Thee save all good, for Thou art the most excellent of the excellent ones. I have not witnessed grief to the measure of a mustard seed. Thou hast caused me to ascend unto Thee and enter the most exalted Paradise, wherein we have been blessed.
Let those who love Us in the Ridvan bear witness, for We are well-pleased with Thee. And let those who know Thee not bear witness in the fire, while We in the pavilions of Ridvan laugh at them. And verily, whoso hath been mentioned in his creation from the Letters of Abha—that is from Thee, for Thou art the most remembering of those who remember. Therefore, O God, remember him from Thy presence as a recompense for his remembrance of Me, for Thou art the best of those who remember. Let the First Letter see. Say: From thy Lord—whosoever remembereth Me once, God will remember him a thousand times, as a bounty from His presence. Verily, He is the best of those who remember.
And whosoever sendeth blessings upon Me once, God will send blessings upon him five hundred thousand times. Verily, He is the best of those who send blessings. And whosoever visiteth Me, I shall visit him on the Day of Resurrection before my Lord, for God hath granted Me from His presence a most great station among the worlds. Say to those who are in the Bayan: I shall surely know who entereth therein if ye help Me and if ye love Me.
