BB00127: Du’a’ li’l-Ithbat (prayer of affirmation)

In the Name of God, the Most Unapproachable, the Most Holy!

O God! I beseech Thee by Thy Divinity which is inaccessible above all things, to preserve and enrich every being with Alif that is related to the Tree of Affirmation, through Thy power over all things. Verily, Thou art the All-Knowing, the Most Powerful, the Most Great.

O God! I beseech Thee by Thy Sublimity which is exalted above all things, to preserve and enrich every being with Ba that is related to the Tree of Affirmation, through Thy power over all things. Verily, Thou art the All-Knowing, the Most Powerful, the Most Great.

O God! I beseech Thee by Thy Forgiveness which is transcendent above all things, to preserve and enrich every being with Ta that is related to the Tree of Affirmation, through Thy power over all things. Verily, Thou art the All-Knowing, the Most Powerful, the Most Great.

O God! I beseech Thee by Thy Steadfastness which is firm above all things, to preserve and enrich every being with Tha that is related to the Tree of Affirmation, through Thy power over all things. Verily, Thou art the All-Knowing, the Most Great.

O God! I beseech Thee by Thy Omnipotence which is compelling above all things, to preserve and enrich every being with Jim that is related to the Tree of Affirmation, through Thy power over all things. Verily, Thou art the All-Knowing, the Most Powerful, the Most Great.

O God! I beseech Thee by Thy Life which is inaccessible above all things, to preserve and enrich every being with Ha that is related to the Tree of Affirmation, through Thy power over all things. Verily, Thou art the All-Knowing, the Most Powerful, the Most Great.

O God! I beseech Thee by Thy Creative Power which is manifest above all things, to preserve and enrich every being with Kha that is related to the Tree of Affirmation, through Thy power over all things. Verily, Thou art the All-Knowing, the Most Powerful, the Most Great.

O God! I beseech Thee by Thy Eternity which is essential above all things, to preserve and enrich every being with Dal that is related to the Tree of Affirmation, through Thy power over all things. Verily, Thou art the All-Knowing, the Most Powerful, the Most Great.

O God! I beseech Thee by Thy Creative Force which is established above all things, to preserve and enrich every being with Dhal that is related to the Tree of Affirmation, through Thy power over all things. Verily, Thou art the All-Knowing, the Most Powerful, the Most Great.

O God! I beseech Thee by Thy Lordship which is independent above all things, to preserve and enrich every being with Ra that is related to the Tree of Affirmation, through Thy power over all things. Verily, Thou art the All-Knowing, the Most Powerful, the Most Great.

O God! I beseech Thee by Thy Nurturing Power which is sovereign above all things, to preserve and enrich every being with Za that is related to the Tree of Affirmation, through Thy power over all things. Verily, Thou art the All-Knowing, the Most Powerful, the Most Great.

O God! I beseech Thee by Thy Glorified Being which is dominant above all things, to preserve and enrich every being with Sin that is related to the Tree of Affirmation, through Thy power over all things. Verily, Thou art the All-Knowing, the Most Powerful, the Most Great.

O God! I beseech Thee by Thy Witnessing Power which is inaccessible above all things, to preserve and enrich every being with Shin that is related to the Tree of Affirmation, through Thy power over all things. Verily, Thou art the All-Knowing, the Most Powerful, the Most Great.

O my God! I beseech Thee by Thy Self-Sufficiency whose sovereignty is exalted above all things, that Thou mayest preserve me, and enrich me, and preserve and enrich every soul denoted by the letter Sad, who is ascribed unto the Tree of Affirmation, through Thy power over all things. Verily Thou art ever the All-Knowing, the All-Powerful, the Most Great.

O my God! I beseech Thee by Thy Suretyship whose sustaining might endureth above all things, that Thou mayest preserve me, and enrich me, and preserve and enrich every soul denoted by the letter Dad, who is ascribed unto the Tree of Affirmation, through Thy power over all things. Verily Thou art ever the All-Knowing, the All-Powerful, the Most Great.

O my God! I beseech Thee by Thy purity which is purified above all things, to protect and enrich every being marked with Ta that is related to the Tree of Affirmation, through Thy power over all things. Verily, Thou art the All-Knowing, the Mighty, the Great.

O my God! I beseech Thee by Thy manifestness which is manifest above all things, to protect and enrich every being marked with Za that is related to the Tree of Affirmation, through Thy power over all things. Verily, Thou art the All-Knowing, the Mighty, the Great.

O my God! I beseech Thee by Thy greatness which is exalted above all things, to protect and enrich every being marked with ʿAyn that is related to the Tree of Affirmation, through Thy power over all things. Verily, Thou art the All-Knowing, the Mighty, the Great.

O my God! I beseech Thee by Thy forgiving nature which is tranquil above all things, to protect and enrich every being marked with Ghayn that is related to the Tree of Affirmation, through Thy power over all things. Verily, Thou art the All-Knowing, the Mighty, the Great.

O my God! I beseech Thee by Thy singleness which is unique above all things, to protect and enrich every being marked with Fa that is related to the Tree of Affirmation, through Thy power over all things. Verily, Thou art the All-Knowing, the Mighty, the Great.

O my God! I beseech Thee by Thy dominion which is triumphant above all things, to protect and enrich every being marked with Qaf that is related to the Tree of Affirmation, through Thy power over all things. Verily, Thou art the All-Knowing, the Mighty, the Great.

O my God! I beseech Thee by Thy grandeur which is glorified above all things, to protect and enrich every being marked with Kaf that is related to the Tree of Affirmation, through Thy power over all things. Verily, Thou art the All-Knowing, the Mighty, the Great.

O my God! I beseech Thee by Thy grace which is gracious above all things, to protect and enrich every being marked with Lam that is related to the Tree of Affirmation, through Thy power over all things. Verily, Thou art the All-Knowing, the Mighty, the Great.

O my God! I beseech Thee by Thy beneficence which is preeminent above all things, to protect and enrich every being marked with Mim that is related to the Tree of Affirmation, through Thy power over all things. Verily, Thou art the All-Knowing, the Mighty, the Great.

O my God! I beseech Thee by Thy light which is luminous above all things, to protect and enrich every being marked with Nun that is related to the Tree of Affirmation, through Thy power over all things. Verily, Thou art the All-Knowing, the Mighty, the Great.

O my God! I beseech Thee by Thy oneness which is unified above all things, to protect and enrich every being marked with Vav that is related to the Tree of Affirmation, through Thy power over all things. Verily, Thou art the All-Knowing, the Mighty, the Great.

O my God! I beseech Thee by Thy guidance which is mighty above all things, to protect and enrich every being marked with Ha that is related to the Tree of Affirmation, through Thy power over all things. Verily, Thou art the All-Knowing, the Mighty, the Great.

O my God! I beseech Thee by Thy divinity which is illumined above all things, to protect and enrich every being marked with La that is related to the Tree of Affirmation, through Thy power over all things. Verily, Thou art the All-Knowing, the Mighty, the Great.

O my God! I beseech Thee by Thy ruby-like essence which is established above all things, to protect and enrich every being marked with Ya that is related to the Tree of Affirmation, through Thy power over all things. Verily, Thou art the All-Knowing, the Mighty, the Great.

Glorified art Thou, O my God! From time immemorial Thy Will hath been supreme over all contingent beings, Thy Purpose manifest above all created things, Thy Decree exalted above all atoms, and Thy Permission transcendent above all who dwell in the kingdoms of earth and heaven. Thou art the Sovereign over all who dwell in the Kingdom of Names and Attributes, and Thy Book is supreme over all books and proofs. I beseech Thee to protect him whom Thou hast guided and brought beneath the shadow of the Tree of Thy affirmation, for this is the greatest of Thy favors unto them that believe in Thy unity, and the most generous of Thy gifts unto them that glorify Thee.

For it may be that a servant dwelleth in the paradise of Thy affirmation, yet Thou mayest transform his light into fire by causing him to depart from the Bayan and enter into that which is inferior to it. For, by Thy glory, every paradise […] is greater than what Thou didst create before it, and every fire Thou kindlest is more intense than what Thou didst kindle before. Therefore, O my God, make all fire to be coolness and peace, light and bounty for me and for those who believe in Thee and Thy signs.

For whoso was in the paradise of the letter Alif of Thy Book which Thou didst reveal before the Qur’an until what Thou revealest was in Thy paradise, and whoso was not therein was in Thy fire. But when Thou didst reveal the Qur’an, whoso believed in it entered the most exalted paradise, and whoso believed not in it entered into the most severe fire. And likewise, O my God, when Thou didst reveal the Bayan, for the paradise of the Qur’an compared to the paradise of the Bayan is as the manifestation of the first life compared to the latter, and its fire is like its paradise in that it is more severe than the first fire, for I witness with mine own eyes that whoso departeth from the Bayan, his fire is more intense than his who departed from the Qur’an.

This hath ever been and will ever be Thy way in every Resurrection, in exaltation and transcendence. I beseech Thee therefore, O my God, to make me, at every Manifestation of Thyself, of them that believe in Thee lest […] the fire, for by Thy glory, I have seen no fire more severe than to witness yet disbelieve in Thy signs with faith and certitude, and no paradise greater than to hasten in belief in Thee and to prostrate before Thee. And that I might take possession of the gardens of Thy Manifestation’s paradise before any soul through faith in Thy signs, which are its fruits.

Therefore, O my God, by Thy power whereby Thou hast sustained the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is between them, hold firm all who have entered the Bayan lest they enter into the fire by removing themselves from beneath the shadow of the Tree of Thy affirmation. And transform, O my God, all fire into light by Thy power whereby Thou hast created the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is between them. For verily Thou art powerful over that and supreme above it. Nothing in the heavens or on earth or between them can frustrate Thee, and nothing in the kingdom of command or creation or whatsoever is beneath them can thwart Thee.

Therefore, O my God, do with all that Thou hast created or wilt create that which will cause it to enter into the light of Thy unity and the radiance of the Sun of Thy sanctity in the gate of Thy oneness. Verily Thou art the All-Knowing, the Powerful, the Great. And send Thy blessings, O my God, upon the Letters of the First in every time, and before time, and after time. Verily Thou art the All-Bountiful, the Exalted.
