As for what you asked about people’s differences regarding Tahirih, the essence of what should be accepted about her is that it is incumbent upon all to remain silent concerning her station, and that she was a leaf who believed in her Lord. The proof for all is the one whom God has made a proof over me and over all, and it is not incumbent upon anyone to derive rulings except from the one in whose hands God has placed His proof. When she advanced in the knowledge of the family of God, it is not befitting for a believer to deny her or harm her. She did not rule except by what was detailed in the Book.
Regarding that about which people differ, the lawful is clear and the unlawful is clear, and the doubtful matters are known. Whoever is God-fearing and guards against doubtful matters has built a fortress protecting against entering into prohibited things. Nothing has been added to or subtracted from religion by even a letter. All the outward aspects of religious law are true without any doubt, and no one is relieved of religious obligations except after death.
The inner aspects of religious law are true without any doubt, but none comprehend this except those well-grounded in knowledge. The outward conforms to the inward—whoever believes in the outward but not the inward has disbelieved, and whoever does not believe in the outward has associated partners with God.
Religion is perfect, its signs are clear, and its proofs are evident. It is not for anyone to interpret except to take its rulings from the places God has made the repositories of His judgment. God does not accept any deed from anyone except what He has commanded and willed, to the end of the statements.
