BB00496: Letter to Haji Mirza Hasan ’Ali, Khal-i-Asghar, in Masqat

I submit to your eminent attention that if you inquire after my humble state out of kindness, praise and thanks be to God, at the time of writing, which is the twenty-ninth day of Rabi’u’th-Thani, I have returned from the pilgrimage to the House of God to my native land.

Praise be to God as is befitting Him, my physical health is good and everything has gone very well until now. On the first day of Dhi’l-Hijjih I was honored to reach the House of God. I stayed twenty-seven days in that sacred land and performed the circumambulation of the House on behalf of the owners. May God in His grace and mercy accept it.

After departing from the city of Mecca, I traveled by land and was honored to reach the pure city of Medina—may God’s blessings be upon its inhabitant. Due to my desire to stay in Mecca, I remained in this sacred land and conveyed greetings on behalf of the aforementioned owners in the presence of the Prophet—peace be upon him and his family—and the pure Imams—peace be upon them. I am hopeful through the grace and beneficence of my Lord that they have accepted it out of their generosity and bounty. May God honor all servants in the world with such a great blessing.

I wrote detailed letters and sent them to Bushihr. If this letter arrives soon, God willing, please inform Shiraz and Bushihr and send a reply so that it reaches me upon arrival in Bushihr, God willing.

Please deliver the enclosed letter to Mirza Muhammad Yazdi who was a student of the late Haji Siyyid Kazim—may God exalt his station. If you can deliver it after reading it, that would be preferable. And peace be upon you and God’s mercy and blessings.
