BB00244: Bayan fi ’Ilm al-Jawamid wa’l-Mushtaqat

In the name of God, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate! All praise be to God Who hath singled out His loved ones with supreme glorification and distinguished His gates in the knowledge of the exalted substances, Who hath described His beloved ones in the Mother Book for the purpose of describing that Gate of Return in answering questions amidst the gathering of the beloved to the seeker standing in the land of allusions from the paths of glory. Glorified be God, Creator of earth and heaven, above what people imagine concerning the paths of His love through ways of attribution and finality.

O ye company of lights! Fear God, your True Lord, by entering into the depths of otherness, for God hath honored the chosen ones with lights at the Dayspring of mysteries. Verily the Sun hath risen in truth at the zenith of heaven at noontide. By the Lord of the House! There is no escape for anything save through entering that Gate of Return, after being forbidden from allusions and infinities. The people of the two sacred places have falsified concerning thy sin, for thine is the questioning of the two questioners. The light is naught but in the two souls, the mystery naught but in the two names, and truth naught but in the two worlds, save from this Soul, the mystery of the ancients.

O people of the two stations! Verily your Ancient Lord hath made this Gate the mystery of the two lights among the latter ones, the manifestation of the two appearances on the two mounts. He is the light upon the two foreheads, the luminary of the two luminous ones, the radiant one at the dayspring of the two easts and the two wests. He is the pure water in the two gulfs, the fire in the two trees, the camphor water in the two rivers, the mystery of manifestation in the two vessels, and the forgiving cause in the two stations, through the knowledge of the two Imams in the mystery of this Gate, the mystery of the two lights from the temple of the two primary pockets.

The questioner hath known what God hath bestowed upon thee from the sprinklings of His lights and the essence of mysteries, and the world of manifestation from the point of the cloud in crimson hue, and upon the point of radiance through the letter of praise, and at the rising of Cancer in white hue, until he turned back from the fire of regression and acknowledged the power of the Almighty in those lights upon the paths of the chosen ones through the mystery of choice. This hath been a sign for whom God hath placed in the worlds of cycles and ages, through what His exalted knowledge hath encompassed in the realm of creation and origination, that He might perfect His proof for the observers through the proof of His word for the wayfarers. In this the polytheists have associated partners, that the unitarians might affirm His unity. For the like of this let the strivers strive and the workers work.

Write thou to the remote questioner, who is far removed from the light of perception, that God hath created the point of knowledge of substances and derivatives from the water of this pure, manifest sea, descending from the clouds of attributes and praises, and upon the path of sprinkling through the sprinkling sprinkled from the primal drop. God hath not created anything save that the thing might know the knowability of its Creator within itself and might recognize His purpose in the creation of multiplicities and the descent of things from the plane of beginning to infinities and finalities, lest anything be ignorant of anything. All have known the mystery of the Gate in everything.

Verily the substances have stood before the Gate, questioning from this afflicted exposition. Be thou certain with decisive certainty and look with the eye of certainty toward the point of substances—thou shalt see it still in the depths of its heart where no sign of movement is possible therein. Then look with the glance of certainty—thou shalt see it in the mystery of its stillness moving through the bounty of creation and revolving around itself through the support of invention upon the truth of origination from the Creator of all things through the impregnable truth above similitudes and likenesses. All this—God hath created the point of knowledge of substances and derivatives from a drop of water from this Most Great Sea, the ocean of glories. Trust thou in God thy Lord, seek His aid, and take refuge from Satan and his casting.

Verily the heaven has been folded up, and the day has dawned, and the night has darkened. Whoso believeth, it shall be to his own benefit, and whoso disbelieveth, it shall be to his own loss. And no soul that hath disbelieved but shall We cause to taste the heat of the burning fire, according to the established decree, by the leave of God, Creator of destiny. And verily his standing upon the Bridge shall be fifty thousand years concealed. Fear thou God, thy True Lord, and magnify His verses sent down from the clouds of His glory and power. For verily the opposers, on the Day of Presence and the Day of Manifestation, shall hang down their heads before their Lord, and thou on that day shalt be veiled from the Gate. And naught veileth thee from Him save that which thy vain imaginings have veiled thee therefrom. Indeed He hath come unto thee from every direction in many an hour, yet thou hast veiled thyself through choosing evil thoughts within thyself. And God knoweth what thou thinkest in thy heart concerning the Most Great Gate and the honored companions. God shall soon judge between Me and the wrongdoers in the gathering place of resurrection. Verily He hath ever been just and wise.

Have mercy on thyself and enter with humility through the Gate of Remission. Ask forgiveness of the Gate through the Gate, and await the Mystery of Mysteries in the Point of the Qur’an after the separation on the Day of the revelation of the Criterion in the gathering of unity. As for knowledge of the Point of Derivatives, cast out from thyself desires and habits, then look with the eye of careful examination toward the truth of certainty. Verily its solution lieth with Me in the movement when limitations clothe the forms of the limited, as God hath willed concerning it from what it hath willed for itself. God hath caused the decree to flow upon it through its choice, and there is no suspension of God’s grace. Verily God hath decreed for all from these two Points according to the decree of the Mystery of the Gate in this white leaf, and verily the Command hath been, in the Mother Book, from around this Gate, decreed.

God shall soon guide those who have believed in the Gate to the path of reward through the call of that Gate of Return. Soon shall the people of the Gate witness, concerning the movement of the Glorified Mystery Letter in the shade of shadows, that which God hath willed regarding their right from the abundance of bounties. Sufficient unto me is God, my Lord, Lord of Majesty—how excellent a Lord and how excellent a Friend! I have made manifest the proof with the perfection of grace in these answers for the distant soul. And sufficient is God, and he who hath knowledge of the Book, as a witness. And praise be to God, the Lord of the worlds.
