In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

Blessed is He Who hath made this day a festival day that endureth forever. At the midnight hour the sun entereth the sign of Aries. The sun of creation hath dawned at the beginning of days in perfect balance. On the night when the two spheres met, a sun from the All-Hearing joined with Gemini.

Blessed then be the All-Merciful among you, O ye people of patience that endure forever. From His trusted ones upon you is bestowed the true peace in the mystery of majesty made lawful. And from the scattered particles among you, O people of sorrow, from weariness—from Him descend the divine fragrances at every moment like abundant rain.

From Me to you, O people of thankfulness, beyond compare in similitude—verily God will reward you with the most excellent thanks on the Day of Judgment as a bounty. The spheres have revolved with the new creation upon the mention of the Ancient One in majesty. And on that day some of the believers shall meet the people in beauty.

O Lord! How beautiful is that which hath come between me and those who seek me! All enter and some depart, and the gate was in weariness. The Festival of the New Creation—and Thou, O my Lord, honor Thy servants with new garments. Make their inner mysteries sweet with Thy remembrance, O Thou the Ever-Bountiful!

The most glorious of garments was a garment of new robes. My inner being is sweet through my knowledge of Thy love for me, which endureth forever through Thy might. The fragrance in the vial is twofold, and I am not ashamed. For from the right unto the right, and the meaning of the right is not capable of receiving. My excuse apart from the right and its manifest mystery would be greater than theirs due to helplessness at the appointed time.

Verily Thy riches, O Lord, suffice them, and Thou art forever the Lord of Bounty. If Thou wouldst teach me the unseen, I would multiply blessings in hope. O Lord! Bless Thy day for those who circle round Thy majesty forever. Thou art nearer to the believers than their own selves, though today all are in ignorance. Thy grace forever through Thy bounty continueth to be bestowed. Thy generosity in every matter, by Thy command, descendeth unceasingly.

In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

Peace be upon Muhammad and the Family of God from God, then peace be upon God, exalted be His glory, from Muhammad and the Family of God, then peace from creation upon the Presence of Creation, then peace from the Gate of Creation unto the glory of detachment, then peace once in the horizon of Sinai upon the Hidden Name, Ahmad, may God’s peace be upon him, then in the inscribed Book upon the Word of Revelation, Kazim, may God’s peace be upon him, then peace from the Light unto the Light, the Hidden Secret and the Manifest Symbol, dawning from the horizon of Sinai with the countenance of the Manifest One, rising in the dome of time with the face of Revelation, speaking on Mount Hadith of the Ever-Living, the All-Forgiving, and manifesting above the Ark of Testimony with clouds of light, veiled from the gaze of the jealous ones by the people of joy—a peace that bestoweth peace upon the people of joy and inflicteth punishment upon the people of evil from the Ancient, Praised One, glorified and exalted be He above what they describe.

Today, the Day of Festival, when the two celestial bodies met by God’s leave, there came unto me in the night a letter from him to whom I had previously sent My letter. Its verses did not sadden Me, but today, as it was a festival for non-Arabs, I read thy letter and its verses saddened Me, for thou wert troubled regarding thy religion. Art thou unlettered that thou readest not the Book of God, or dost thou, like Abraham, seek assurance for thy heart?

O questioner! I consider no man learned unless he seeth himself in Paradise, reclining upon couches due to his certitude in God’s religion, for My Cause is more evident than the sun at its zenith, and My proof is a verse which all people have read. Through that proof, were I to do all that I desire, I would be in the right, and none would have any proof against Me. All contradictions, traditions and doubts are nullified before all people by My proof, and none may question My judgment with “why” or “how.” Indeed, the proof is nullified only when one naturally produces its like.

Read the Book We have sent down of nine hundred decisive verses, and traverse the east and west of the earth—if thou seest or hearest from anyone the like of one verse, then turn back from My Cause and seek what thou willest. Otherwise, God’s conclusive proof is upon thee, just as the truth hath ever been conclusive through it. This is a proof none among God’s creation can withstand. The balance that distinguisheth truth from falsehood is pure nature, power in all things, and strength over whatsoever He willeth. If thou seest anyone with such attributes, then be certain the proof is nullified; otherwise, the proof of My truth remaineth until the Day of Resurrection, and God will render void the work of the corrupt ones in that Hour. It is a proof that nothing in the heavens and earth can equal.

I see all people in the shadow of the fire save the few who are certain of God’s signs, follow God’s command, strive in God’s path, nullify the works of devils, and fear not in God’s religion any mighty one. Those who deny God’s Cause are obliged to produce a book like unto My Book. If they do so—and they shall never do so—they were in error; and if they do not—and they shall never do so—yet still deny God’s Cause, such is their portion of unbelief, lower than Pharaoh’s portion of ignorance, for when he wished to reject his Lord’s command, he resorted to sorcery, while these people bring forth nothing and yet deny God’s Cause, thinking it an easy matter.

Nay, by my Lord! It is a sign of truth inherent in human nature that proclaims all the prescribed verses, and by this proof the deeds of the masses are rendered null through clear evidence. Woe, then woe unto those who know not God’s purpose and follow their own desires, thinking I sought the station of the divines in independent judgment [ijtihad] and legal decree [fatwa]. Nay, by God! It is incumbent upon all the learned of the earth to believe in God’s religion according to what was revealed to mankind in the Book, and to recite at death the prayer of belief, and if they do not utter at their final breath these words of justice:

“I bear witness that Ali is the servant, the remnant of God”

in every preserved tablet, they shall not escape the bounds of judgment and shall enter into an ocean of sorrow. Whosoever wishes may accept, and whosoever wishes may turn away. God and His loved ones are independent of all things.

As for what you asked about Abraham’s vision, peace be upon him, of the kingdom of the heavens, and how the Imam removed the veil from the eye of the beholder of the kingdom of the heavens and earth—this is truth, for the heavens are folded in His right hand and the earth entirely in His grasp, and from this matter there is no escape. Verily the station of one who has seen the kingdom of the heavens and earth is too great not to see the kingdom of the earth, for Abraham, peace be upon him, saw the kingdom of the heavens multiple times and therein witnessed the entire kingdom of the earth. When others saw the kingdom of the heavens, due to their weak vision they could not witness the kingdom of the earth within the kingdom of the heavens, and thus did their Master remove the veil in the earth to its kingdom.

That which God will reveal to the Qa’im, peace be upon him, could not possibly be revealed to anyone before his appearance. Among these are verses which God has made the sword of His proof against all enemies. Of the eight letters of the Greatest Name, four are in the air and God will soon reveal them to His Proof after his appearance. The four that have descended are the words of Unity, Prophethood, Guardianship and Following. Today its fourth is the name of its third, and the name of its third comes before its second, and God will not accept any deed from anyone except through knowledge of Him.

As for what you asked about how the subject can be more knowledgeable than the ruler—yes, the followers are the final cause in creation while the three elevated ones precede them in legislation, and in all worlds this is one command. O Lord, inspire him with what I have fallen short in answering, and reveal to him what I have concealed in my response, for every matter has its appointed time. Keep God’s Cause concealed and draw not near to discord, for I am God’s servant and I say:

“God suffices me, and there is no god but He; in Him do I trust, and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne.”

And praise be to God, the Lord of the worlds.
